Cupping method
The application and combination possibilities of BellaBambi® are almost endless. Use one of our cupping techniques or get creative yourself!
Pinching
How is it done?
Squeeze and place the BellaBambi® Cup on the skin and immediately remove it again (with or without massage oil). Repeat several times.
Who should do it?
Pinching is traditionally used because of its stimulating and blood circulation-enhancing properties.
Recommended for stretch marks, orange peel and cellulite. Preventive use in pregnancy can prepare the skin for hyperextension.
What happens?
For more firmness and stability: Repeat several times so that the effect is comparable to a plucking massage. A gentle impulse can stimulate new tissue formation in the epidermis.
To promote elasticity by using the recoil effect : Gently apply the vacuum and then slowly remove the cup again. The fascia can expand and become more slippery.
SLIDING
How is it done?
Apply the BellaBambi® vacuum cup and move it over the skin. The use of BellaBambi® cupping oil is recommended so that the silicone suction cup glides smoothly over the skin.
Who should do it?
Athletes who need to activate and people who need to relax (see below: What happens when you do this?)
What happens?
Toning application: Move the BellaBambi® Cup over the skin at high speed. Recommended before sport to increase muscle tension (fast, intensive stroking movements). Comparable to the traditional Gua Sha technique.
Detonizing application: Slowly move the vacuum cup over the skin. Ideal for relaxation and regeneration after stress in sports and everyday life. To stretch the tissue and reduce muscle tension, it is best to pull the cup in slow strokes or circles.
Fascial layers can be lifted and shifted against each other. Adhesion and tension can be released and pain and restricted mobility can be improved. Sliding is used for general mobilization and to stimulate the lymph flow and blood circulation.
MOBILIZING
How is it done?
Apply the BellaBambi® suction cup to the skin. Then move a nearby body part.
Who should do it?
Athletes and people with mobility disabilities. This way, you can better understand and feel the limitations.
What happens?
BellaBambi® and additionally moving the fascial tissue can increase the effect of the negative pressure. Body movements allow layers of fascia to move against each other while simultaneously being pulled upwards by BellaBambi®. The resulting shearing movement can support relief and regeneration in the course of fascial pathways. In physiotherapy, this technique is often used for knee or shoulder injuries.
MOBILIZING in combination with Sliding can promote the removal of metabolic products.
TIPPING/CIRCLING
How is it done?
Place the BellaBambi® vacuum cup on the skin and tip it in different directions (TIPPING) or circle and lift it at the same time (CIRCLING). Maintain skin contact with the peeling edge at all times, do not use oil.
What happens?
The raised side of the cup reinforces a selective expansion, while the opposite side creates gentle pressure. Ideal for targeting trigger points or for treating (healed!) scars. The healing process and new tissue formation can be stimulated.
PLACING
How is it done?
Place the cup on the painful area or desired acupuncture point of your choice, let it suck and relax. Direct your attention to this spot and remove the cup again after about 30 seconds.
What happens?
Based on the method of the so-called "empty cupping" (Chirali, 2008, p. 75). Makes it easier to focus on pulling and pushing the BellaBambi® and increases self-awareness.
Slowly increase application time. Can also be performed several times in a row. Slight cupping marks are possible (harmless to health).
PRESS
How is it done?
Put the BellaBambi® Cup (mini or original) on your thumb like a thimble. Let the tip of the BellaBambi® glide over the skin until a pain or trigger point can be felt. Press there with constant or increasing intensity until the pain goes away. At the same time, rotate the cup slightly if you feel like it.
Note: Let it “melt down” and give it time, deal with the pressure sensitively.
What happens?
With trigger point treatments, blood circulation can be restored and the muscles can be supplied with sufficient oxygen. Pain receptors in the fascia can be retuned and relaxing messenger substances can be released. Beneficial for headaches in the temple area or selective pain, eg in the area of the spine.
The "Golgi point therapy" and the "Periosteal massage according to Dr. Vogler”, the pressing technique can not only stimulate free nerve endings in the connective tissue. The periosteum and joint capsules are also fascial tissue structures that are heavily innervated by nerves and can be stimulated by pressing.
In addition, myofascial trigger point massage of the head, neck and shoulders can decrease heart rate and blood pressure, improve emotional state and relieve muscle tension (Delaney et al., 2022).
SPINNING
How is it done?
Apply the BellaBambi® Cup suck on the skin, then leave it in place and slowly rotate it back and forth (it is best to hold the cup at the tip and rotate gently). Perform this without oil.
A combination with sliding is recommended to support the supply of the extracellular matrix.
What happens?
The twisting of the skin can increase blood flow and lead to loosening of the tissue. Often used for skin tightening and to reduce the formation of wrinkles.
STRETCH
How is it done?
Place two BellaBambi® cups at the same time along a line of fascia (anatomy train) and slowly move them away from each other. At the end of the Sliding section, decrease and start again at the exit point. Different sized BellaBambi® cups can also be combined with each other
What happens?
Thanks to stretching, fascial structures can be expanded vigorously. Particularly recommended for incorrect or relieving posture or for expanding hardened structures.
PUMPING
How is it done?
Apply BellaBambi® on the skin. Then lift it – just far enough so that the cup does not detach from the skin – and lower it again. Perform technique without oil. Choose speed and intensity according to your own feelings.
What happens?
A strong, longer train followed by a break serves to progressively relax the fascia.
Slow movements can loosen deep layers of tissue and are more likely to promote elasticity.
Short impulse waves can stimulate tissue to become stronger and more resilient.
The alternation between suction and pressure can support the fluid exchange and bring elasticity to the tissue.
EXPAND
How is it done?
Pre-stretch the area where the cup is to be placed using a classic stretching exercise. Place the cup and hold the stretch to increase the local stretch.
Tip: If it is not possible to place the cup firmly in the stretched position, you can place the cup first and then go into the stretched position.
What happens?
Structural shortening, especially in the back and neck area, can benefit from this technique. Expanding is also good for mental tension.
TAPPING
How is it done?
"Hammer" on the tissue with the tip of the cup, select the intensity as you feel (increase slowly).
Tip: Two cups can be plugged into one another for a better grip and more stability.
What happens?
This technique is a good preparation for further cupping applications. Specific tension can dissolve so well.
Traditionally, many tapping techniques are known, including MET, EFT, and tapping acupressure. The tapping can loosen the tissue and promote blood circulation.
