Kaiserschlüpfer (lit. “emperor’s knickers”) are the innovation for women after a C-section. Because it protects and cools the scar, supports the abdomen and leaves you feeling comfortable and protected immediately after birth.

How does it work? The panty has a pocket in which a reusable cooling pad can be placed, invisible from the outside. You simply slip this gel pad into the pocket after putting on the panty. It prevents friction and pressure through the trousers waistband on the C-section scar and cools it. With no bulky side seams and an extra high waistband, Kaiserschlüpfer are super comfortable to wear.

Your belly is perfectly supported by the high waistband and therefore does not press on the fresh scar from above. Therefore, Kaiserschlüpfer relieve the scar from pressure both from above and from the front.

You can wear the panty immediately after birth, but you ultimately decide what is comfortable for you. Kaiserschlüpfer was designed by Julia, a mum who has undergone a C-section, and Daniela, a highly experienced midwife. They know exactly what is good for you after birth. We recommend at least two cooling pads per panty so that you can always use one pad while the other one is being cooled. One cooling pad is included with each panty.

Study
The Kaiserschlüpfer underwent a trial at the Charité hospital in Berlin, one of the largest university hospitals in Europe. 100 patients tested the Kaiserschlüpfer after their caesarean section. The evaluation of the questionnaires shows excellent results: 92% of the women surveyed found the briefs to offer relief after the caesarean section, 97% found them at least comfortable to wear, 78% even very comfortable. 95% would definitely recommend the Kaiserschlüpfer to others.

Instructions for use - cooling pad

The cooling pads are manufactured in Germany and fulfil the highest quality standards.

The gel is non-toxic, but not suitable for consumption! If gel gets on the skin, simply wash the area with water. Dispose of defective pads in the residual waste.

Cool the cooling pad in the fridge, not in the freezer. A second pad is very practical, so one pad can always remain in the panty for protection and the other can be cooled in the fridge

Advice
Never place the cooling pad directly on the skin, only use it together with the Kaiserschlüpfer panty. Do not use a damaged pad and dispose of it in the residual waste. Please do not leave the cooling pad unattended with small children. The contents are non-toxic but not suitable for consumption.

Cleaning
If soiled, the gel pad can be wiped with a damp cloth. Please do not use abrasive cleaners, glass cleaners or all-purpose cleaners.

Find your perfect size!
Kaiserschlüpfer always combines two sizes in one size.
If you are between two sizes, we always recommend the smaller size. However, please do not wear the panty too tight immediately after the birth, especially the Kaiserschlüpfer after a caesarean section. It is better to choose the smaller size of the panty "Bauchschmeichler" later, when the belly has receded a little and the scar no longer needs protection.

Material
We use 89% polyamide and 11% elastane, the crotch area is made of cotton. The panty is breathable, OEKO-TEX certified, has no irritating side seams, is bi-elastic and therefore fits your body perfectly.
Thanks to its ribbed structure, it holds your tummy comfortably and supports your back. The material has no effect on the muscles.

When selecting the material, we focused on high durability, a soft feel and an elegant, matt look. The pockets are even sewn on by hand to make them extra sturdy, so they may vary slightly in shape.

Washing instructions for the panty
Washable up to 40°C, wash with similar colours, we recommend using colour detergent and a laundry bag. Do not use fabric softener and do not tumble dry. If soiled with blood, rinse the briefs once with cold water before washing.
